Returns a boolean.  This relies on the Alphabet subclassing
hierarchy only, and does not check the letters property.
This isn't ideal, and doesn't seem to work as intended
with the AlphabetEncoder classes.

Reimplemented in test_GACrossover.TestAlphabet.
